D. in Information Sciences, branch of Journalism, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1998). He has always combined teaching with his journalistic work. He directed the newspaper La Voz del Tajo de Toledo; he participated in the birth of the economic newspaper Expansión; for 20 years he has worked in the ABC newspaper, in the Economy section; he has collaborated in Punto Radio with a program on economic matters. He is currently a contributor to the newspaper El Economista.

His research focuses on the analysis of the quality of the written media; also on specialized journalism and more specifically on economic journalism, the subject of his doctoral thesis. As a result of his research, he has published five books on journalism, as well as a number of journal articles.
